Miiro Templeton Garden is a terrace of seven Victorian townhouses in Earl’s Court, west London, first converted into a hotel in the 1970s. Holland Harvey completed a full refurbishment of the 156-bedroom hotel for Miiro, as part of their new European brand family.

A contemporary extension
Set within the Nevern Conservation Area within the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Holland Harvey won consent for a new contemporary extension to the rear. Designed to emulate traditional Victorian orangeries, the new extension draws on the proportions, rhythm and language of the existing terrace, while being expressed as a distinctly contemporary addition.
The extension extends the existing basement and ground floor to provide additional space for guest amenities and back-of-house facilities and an external terrace that enjoys views of the expansive garden, landscaped by Mueewsen Muldoon.

Interior experience
Internally, the palette reflects Miiro’s modern yet understated approach to luxury, with interiors crafted by London-based interior design studio, Thurstan. Expanded lounge and dining spaces, together with a street-facing café, establish the ground floor as the social heart of the hotel, inviting both guests and the local community to stay and enjoy the space.
Existing lightwells throughout the building were reworked as part of the refurbishment, drawing natural light deeper into the space and establishing a direct visual connection to the garden.
