At Holland Harvey, we believe a strong studio culture is fundamental to the work we do. Creating an inclusive, supportive and ambitious environment means giving our team the space to grow, contribute and thrive. From professional development and open dialogue to policies that support wellbeing, we are committed to building a studio that invests in its people as thoughtfully as it does its projects.

Cultivating Professional Growth
Our training initiatives are designed to nurture the development of every team member. We offer a robust postgraduate programme that provides financial support, paid study days, and a mentorship programme. This initiative is inclusive of both architectural and non-architectural colleagues, demonstrating our holistic approach to career development. For instance, one of our team members has pursued an MBA supported by the studio.
Further enhancing our soft skills, we have engaged experts such as Satwinder Samra from Sheffield University, who provided invaluable training to improve our presentation skills. This training aims to forge deeper connections with our audience and enable our staff to showcase their work in the best light.

A Thriving Studio Culture
Our studio culture is deeply rooted in collaboration, creativity and respect. Regular studio rituals - from our monthly Friday lunches cooked by team members to our ‘adopt a plant’ policy - help shape the culture of the practice. These small but intentional moments encourage collaboration, shared responsibility and a stronger sense of connection across the team.
Additionally, our annual outings and trips, including recent trips to Lille and Ghent, are designed to strengthen team bonds and enhance our understanding of each other and the places we explore together.

Championing Equality
Diversity and inclusion are more than just buzzwords at Holland Harvey. With 67% of our staff and 60% of our senior management team identifying as women, we are proud to be leaders in promoting gender equality in the architectural field.
Our commitment extends beyond internal policies to active engagement with community initiatives that promote social mobility and diversity, such as collaborating with local schools and councils.

Prioritising Well-Being and Work-Life Balance
Recognising the diverse needs of our team, we offer flexible working policies that allow our staff to tailor their work schedules to fit their personal lives. Our Blended Working Policy supports work from home options, flexible hours, and even the opportunity to work from different locations.
We are also proactive about mental health, providing resources and support to ensure our studio is a safe space for open discussions. Our Thoughtful Communication Policy underpins this, ensuring all interactions are respectful and considerate.
